What Can I Do When I'm Unemployed?

If you haven't heard my incessant Chicken Little-stress-whining, I will no longer be employed as of December 2nd. Unrelatedly, I'm on holidays this week, so I'm getting a little taste of what my "new" life will be like. Being up at 6am after Chebbar leaves for school gives me a lot of quiet time to ponder alllll the things I'll be able to do...
  • stay up late
  • sleep in late
  • go back to bed
  • nap
  • consume nothing but toast and tea all day long
  • do yoga
  • kick the elliptical's ass
  • go for a walk in the middle of the day when it's still light outside
  • get sweaty with Billy Blanks
  • play Just Dance
  • finally try that damned Zumba game for the Wii without fear of someone seeing me
  • take a bath in the middle of the day just because I can
  • meditate
  • blog
  • journal
  • write
  • colour
  • draw
  • make cards
  • learn to knit
  • learn to crochet
  • learn to use that really expensive gadget I bought months ago that I'm scared to talk about openly lest the photogra-nazis flame me into oblivion
  • read (oh, the READING I'll be able to do!)
  • devote more time to Band Back Together
  • try new recipes
  • keep my house clean
  • work on my getting my business up and running (now postponed to the New Year, but that's okay!)
  • watch movies
  • listen to music
  • paint my nails
  • bake
  • play (video) games
  • cross stitch
  • sew that damned housecoat pattern/material that's been sitting in the closet since I moved in five years ago
  • spend more time with family
  • finally put a bright purple/pink/red/blue/random coloured streak in my hair
  • contemplate that half-sleeve I've been dreaming about to feed my tattoo addiction
  • catch up on Google Reader
  • bore you all on Twitter with chatter about what I'm eating for lunch
  • pin ALLLLL the things!
  • continue annoying people by posting pictures/cartoons/blocks of text on facebook simply because I can
  • finally make it to the end of the internet
What am I missing, folks? Pin It

Oh, what a fun list.  Definitely gives you something to look forward to- always fun to turn things on their head.  You go.

  3. You'll love it! When I was doing my bookwork from home (aka staying home he he) I found I didn't really have TIME to work! I got wonderful dinners prepared, I did my scrapbooking. I actually blogged. Watched what I wanted on tv, worked out without anyone seeing me, oh you'll have such fun :)

  5. Fab list!! Sooooooooooooooo, so, so jealous!!!

You gotta get your pen ready for lots of list ticking off too!! :)

What about maybe trying a new exercise class every week.... at a gym or wherever - not at home :)
You might find something you really love and you will get to meet new people!
I used to go to boxercise but it finished up, it was the best class ever. I always felt great afterwards no matter how I felt going in!

  6. Is it crazy that I'm a little jealous of all the things you'll get to do? If I had time at home I would get my lazy ass on the treadmill, watch every TV show I've missed on netflix, write more, read a lot more, and taste more wines. But that's just the short list.

  7. You're going to have to tell me how the Zumba game for the Wii goes, I've been wanting to try that. :-)

Love the list, but I have to agree...no pants.

  8. I've been laid off for more than 2 years and still haven't done everything on your list. I will be borrowing from it.

  9. <33 When I quit my PhD program just before I got pregnant with Miss Pants, I decided to watch seasons 1-3 of Lost (I started watching at Season 4).  I watched it like it was my job--sometimes 7 episodes a day!  It cracks me up now.  I also read a TON...all of the librarians knew me!  ENJOY!!!

  10. Awesome list, Chibs. Don't forget "Dance like no one's watching...because they're not!!" and "Skip pants"
