Possibly Unpopular Opinion #5

#5: I recently tried red velvet cake for the first time. I really didn't think it was anything special. Rating: meh.

  1. Really? I wonder if you got a bad piece. Was it moist? Because dry red velvet cake is not good.

    1. It was... kind of in-betweenie: not really dry, not really moist.

  2. I'm not a huge fan, either. Every time I eat red velvet cake, I end up thinking a piece of good, plain chocolate cake would've been better. Solidarity!

  4. After all the hype I heard about it, I have to agree. Most recipes are just versions of German Chocolate cake with a metric ton of red dye added. And I'd rather have German Chocolate since it usually has glorious coconut frosting.

    1. HA! But only if it's GOOD icing - not that 5-lbs of sugar crap from the grocery store. That stuff makes mah teeth ache. ;)

    1. Sadly, I did not even have mediocre pink poops. I feel deprived now.

  11. Not a fan of Red velvet myself. I'd rather have a good piece of chocolate cake. This mediocre chocolate cake with red food coloring added is just meh.

    1. Yes, yes, yes. I think I expected more because of all the red velvet-hype.

  12. I've not had the overwhelming experience with the red velvet that people rave about. Only tried it a few times, though.
